Oakland School of Arts, California

My son, Bao Doan goes to Oakland School of Arts and he really enjoys it. His emphasis is visual art and this is his first school year with OSA. The school is located on Telegraph Avenue and 19th street in Oakland. It has about 500 students from middle to high school. Besides regular curriculum, OSA offers art classes from dancing, singing, drama, fashion to visual art.

This was one of the art shows at OSA that Bao and I visited.

The students' paintings, digital and pencil drawings.

The students' creative use of papers to make the shoe and purse.

The catwalk for the fashion show.

Dresses made with paper, some resemble origami folds.

More students' artwork.

And below are some of Bao's artwork.

The Queen Ant and Her Eggs.

Tired Day After School.

The Horns.

The Ladders.

The Mandrill.

Shapes and Colors.

The Lemons and Chili Peppers.
